For those who don’t know, I’m about eight weeks away from bringing a Jr. Amelia Burton into this world. Very exciting time for me and my hubby!
During this time, the main accessory (and a beautiful one) is the belly. The belly that almost needs its own postcode, but you don’t want to sacrifice looking anything but fabulous during this time. Am I right?
All you beautiful to-be and already mamas out there who have to scour through their closets to find workout clothes that’ll be flattering for the belly, I’ve made the job easy for you. Here’s my list of everything I wore during my pregnant training sessions for the past few months.
I hope this inspires the inner fashionista and exercise fanatic in you.
Favourite Sports Bra: Lorna Jane’s Michaela Sports Bra – The colours in this are so great for the summer months and the support is outstanding. I feel comfortable wearing it without a T-shirt over.
Favourite Singlet: Lorna Jane’s Cruise Excel Tank – This comes in two bright colours and the mesh makes my skin breathe during a sweaty crossfit session. The elastic waist helps hide my big belly and don’t tell anyone, but I look tanned in its neon colour combo. Win-win!
Favourite Pants: Lorna Jane’s Pledge 7/8 Tights – The length for all Lorna Lane tights is very flattering on any leg – be it long or short. The waist band can be folded down to show off your flat tummy or up to hide muffin tops. The striped waist band made me feel comfortable in wearing it with crop tops.
Favourite Running Accessory: I love a good visor! Lorna Jane’s Ventilation Visor is brilliant. It’s really flattering on all head shapes, the fabric wicks away swear from the forehead and it’s machine washable. The colours in this range are super fun and very ‘in’ for the coming months. My favourite? Neon pink, it is!
Favourite Beauty Product: I wear Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF 30+ every day under my make-up, and also when I train outdoors. It’s not oily and doesn’t even clog pores. This should be every runners’ beauty essential.
Favourite Podcast whilst training: I listen to a bazillion podcasts while I train. Flip between ABC radios Baby Talk, Dr Swan’s Health Report, Pod Runner, Physio edge, and British Journal of Sports medicine. Get the Spotify app for music inspiration. You can go back to the 80s and 90s music on there – brilliant!
Favourite post-workout drink: 1 cup frozen raspberries, 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds, a handful of torn mint leaves, 3 tablespoon low-fat yoghurt, a squirt of manuka honey (optional) – blend and enjoy!
